- Designed for new DH racers to become more comfortable and confident on their race course

HEAD COACH: Kathi Krause, a three-time Masters World Downhill Champion, is the founder and head coach of Dirt Rock n Root Training (DRRT), a mtb coaching company focused on building confidence and skills in riders of all levels. With over 35 years of racing and coaching experience, Kathi brings a supportive and down-to-earth approach to helping beginners get comfortable on technical terrain.

DRRT's half-day downhill camps for beginners are designed to introduce new riders to the fundamentals of gravity riding in a safe, encouraging environment. With small group sizes and personalized attention, participants learn essential skills like body position, braking, line choice, and navigating obstacles—gaining the confidence to take their riding to the next level.
IMPORTANT DETAILS
- The results from this race will determine 2025 USA Cycling PA State Champions for Downhill. Results will also count as Round 2 towards the Allegheny Gnar DH Series Overall results.
- For this race we will have a full separate dedicated course for the Beginner Fun racers, this Beginner course will be the best place for a first DH experience.
- Free to spectators, fun event for all ages!
- Event will be run rain or shine.
- Plan to pack out your own garbage and leave no trace on the property.
- All riders must check-in at Event Registration before riding or racing.
- This race is USA Cycling sanctioned. You can signup for a USAC license at the event or online. All race competitors (except Beginner fun racers) must have valid USAC annual or 1-day USAC license. Beginner Fun racers or open riders do NOT need a USAC license. You can also apply your 1-day license fee towards an annual license within 12 months. USAC officials will be on hand to ensure a safe and fair event. Results from the race will be posted to USAC website directly after the race as well as Roots & Rain website and AlleghenyGnar.com .
- Free overnight parking is permitted only for registered riders. No open fires are permitted.
- We have race classes for all skill levels, ask us if you aren't sure what to sign up for.
- Open riding passes are available for Friday and Saturday, Sunday is for registered racers only.

Beginner class is a non-points class with an easier course. Beginner class will practice and race on Saturday only and be half price. Beginner racers can move up to Cat 3 on Sunday if they choose too, to do so please visit Registration at the event no later than Saturday afternoon.
TIMING
Timing equipment from Zone4 is included in sign-up fee. Timing chips will be mounted in staging 6-9 minutes before start time and removed at finish line.

DH SEEDING
Only Pro & Cat 1/2 classes will have an optional seeding run to determine start list for Sunday. Top seeding times will start last in their class with those who skip seeding dropping first.
SERIES OVERALL POINTS
- Top overall series finishers in each class will receive awards for Allegheny Gnar Overall Championship.
- To be eligible for series awards must race 2 races and all races count towards overall points.
- Ties will be broken as follows, 1. Most Race Wins in 2025 Series, 2. Best Finals Result
