Thank you to everyone that came out to ride, race or just support Allegheny Gnar and the local downhill trails this year! We maintained and updated trails at both locations and continued expanding the trail system at Crawford Reserve in President substantially this year by opening up Antenna Trail, Dry Hollow Trail and Button Buck Trail. We are looking forward to adding more backcountry style trails in President in 2026 as well as some new beginner trails in President.
Our 2 race events in 2025 hosted just under 200 total riders from 6 states and Canada with the most riders from PA, NY & NJ. We awarded $4,250 to winning Pro racers and crowned 11 USA Cycling State Champions. In 2026 we are planning on hosting 1 Downhill race weekend as well as many free group rides, beginner clinics and maybe an Enduro race in the next year or 2 if the schedules work out. Speaking of free group rides, we hosted over 50 riders for regular weekend group rides at Crawford Reserve in President and Back 40 in Warren this summer/ fall. These group rides run on rider donations and are a fun, relaxed setting to get new riders on bikes. We have 1 demo bike that is completely free for new riders to use too and we try to get a new rider on it almost every ride (shoutout Ryan for the Fezzari enduro bike donation). In 2026 we plan to start up the free group rides as soon as weather allows, hopefully we get 50 degree on Jan 1 like last year to get an early start on 2026 DH laps. Also wanted to mention how great it is to see the bike community growing in Western PA, new events at Tower Hill and the Roaring Run Enduro plus the revival of the Two Mile Run XC race are huge to giving more riders a chance to compete in our region and grow the sport here. Can't wait for the Woods Room Bike Park to open soon so the dirt jumpers can come out in the winter!
